Gathering, Remembering, & Telling Our Story

The Mellon Humanities For All Times Grant: Movement Memory and Justice is a 3-year initiative at Morehouse College devoted to the study of the intersections of Africana History, Digital Humanities, Justice, and Cultural Heritage Preservation, with an eye toward growing the Humanities disciplines in the Atlanta University Center.

The purpose of the convening is invite the community of scholars, artists, and partnering organizations aligned in efforts to link enslavement to the criminal justice system, fight for civil rights, prevent Black land loss, ensure cultural and environmental sustainability, and produce thought provoking music, art, books, and film.

This convening is part of the process of reclamation. We invite common thought partners to join us in this work.
